Airstream is tapping into the off-road and adventure market with its new Interstate 24X 2022 motorhome.

Built on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, the Interstate 24X oversizes other Airstream adventure vans.

It is equipped with four-wheel drive and all-terrain tires and wheels for navigating dirt roads and trails. It has a 24 foot floor plan designed for storage, transportation of equipment, and additional people. The motorhome offers seating and sleeping arrangements for six people.

For those who want to go deeper into the woods – who want to get out of the crowds and find the perfect spot for boondocking – Interstate 24X lets you do that, ”said Justin Humphreys, vice president of sales at ‘Airstream.

The van is powered by a Mercedes-Benz 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine that produces 188 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds. It is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. Airstream says the motorhome will do 16-18 mpg when driving on the highway. The fuel tank holds 24.5 gallons, providing a range of over 300 miles, according to the driver.

The motorhome comes at an oversized price, which starts at $ 213,850.

Hauling a 30-foot, 7,800-pound Airstream trailer with a lightweight Ford F-150 pickup is proving difficult despite the truck’s 10,100-pound towing capacity.
