Home Décor Superstore announces second location in Connecticut

I just returned from a trip. I went to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the wedding of my cousin’s child. My cousin took me to a new store that I had seen before but had never been to.

It was called At Home and if you want to decorate your home, condo or apartment with thousands of accessories, one of the biggest players in home decor stores is about to make a second foray into the landscape of the Connecticut.

At home is a national home decor retailer based in Plano, Texas, and operates approximately 225 stores in 40 states. The only Connecticut At Home location currently is in Manchester at 1181 Tolland Turnpike in the Shoppes at Burr Corners.

It’s a big store, the size of a WalMart, Costco, or BJ, over 110,000 square feet. At Home offers everything from furniture and pillows to wall decor, rugs, kitchen and dining room supplies, bedroom and bathroom, storage and cleaning and a huge selection of outdoor goods.

I was able to find a game of bocce while I was at home in Oklahoma City and they had a great selection of fireplace accessories. I was able to get a new set of kebabs for S’mores this summer.

According to an article in the New Haven Register, At Home has targeted North Haven’s Universal Drive for its second location in Connecticut. It will be in the North Haven Commons Mall where Toys R Us, Babies R Us, and Ulta Beauty were located.

According to the article, it will take time. Permits, renovations, reconstruction, etc. will all need to take place first, and the announced scheduled opening date is early 2022. By then, you can head to the store in Manchester, CT, or there are two relatively nearby in Nanuet and Middletown, NY .
