“I am pleased to see the continued growth and development of the village, which has recently carved out a new niche with the official opening of an Economuseum at Chocolate Manor, becoming the first chocolatier outside of Canada to join the exclusive network.

“Our borough greatly benefits from our local entrepreneurs and their vision makes an essential contribution to the local economy.

“I would like to thank Leanne and Linsey for taking time out of their busy day to show me around and together with their brother Aran I wish them the best for their future.”

Reflecting on their decision to open The Surf Shack, the Lyons family said:

“We love Castlerock, it’s our hometown. We grew up surfing its cold waters, building sand castles on the beach and walking through its beautiful forest. We’ve always seen the potential in this little coastal village and it’s really cool to be part of the reason people visit Castlerock for the first time.

“Of course we can’t take all the credit for this, there are many businesses new and old in Castlerock that really help it thrive. Castlerock really is a fantastic place and we just want to spread the love of our home.
