United talent Ethan Laird shines again on loan for MK Dons
Ethan Laird is gaining vital loan experience at MK Dons and had another good 90 minutes this weekend.
Laird, 19, was in MK Dons’ 1-1 draw at home against Oxford in League One.
The teenager has won more aerial duels than any player on his team, seven in total.
Laird also came on well, attempting two shots on goal, one of which drew a smart save from the goalkeeper.
Speaking after the game, the loaned Manchester United player said he was making the most of his first loan.
Laird said MK Dons website: “I played well, I’m always trying to get better and better, that’s why I’m here.
“It’s great, I couldn’t ask for more, the way the manager trusts me.”
The youngster played in a right winger role which allows him to showcase his offensive qualities.
This saw him pick up a second assist of his fate midweek with a quick run to the sideline before delivering an accurate cross for a tap-in.
Laird held up well, considering that the Under-23’s misfortune had seen him become considered “injury-prone”.
The youngster has now played 10 Ligue 1 matches, all starting, plus another in the FA Cup from the bench.
If he can continue to stay fit and play at the level he has been and further refine his game, then Laird will return to United this summer in hopes of challenging Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s position.
